The agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a contract between you and Inlocus, Inc. ("Inlocus", "we", "us") covering your use of the Inlocus extension, web app, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
If you're using Inlocus on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company to these Terms.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
- You're responsible for everything that happens on your account.
- You must be at least 16 to use Inlocus.
- One person, one account. Don't share logins.
Acceptable use
Don't use Inlocus to:
- Record meetings without consent where consent is legally required.
- Record people in violation of any law or contract.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our models or training data.
- Resell the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
- Send us malware, spam, or anything designed to break the Service.
- Impersonate someone else, or misrepresent your affiliation.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
Recording & consent
You are responsible for getting consent from meeting attendees before recording. Some jurisdictions ("two-party consent" states like California, Florida, and Pennsylvania, plus most of the EU) require all participants to consent to being recorded. We provide tools to help — calendar pre-notice, per-attendee opt-out, pause — but the legal obligation is yours.
If you record someone who later requests their voice be excluded, contact us and we'll remove that audio from the recording and any derived transcripts.
Your content
Your content is yours. Recordings, transcripts, drafted tasks — all of it. You grant Inlocus a limited license to process your content for the sole purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not sell or share your content beyond the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy.
You can export or delete your content at any time from your account settings. If you delete your account, we delete your content per the schedule in our Security page.
Payment & cancellation
- Free plan — first meeting free, no credit card required.
- Pro plan — $30 per month, billed monthly via Stripe. Your first meeting is free; no card required to start.
- Cancellation — cancel anytime from billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial months.
- Price changes — we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before any price increase, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
- Taxes — prices exclude VAT, GST, and similar taxes, which we add where required.
Availability
We aim for high uptime but we don't currently offer a contractual SLA on Free or Pro. Team / Enterprise tier customers get a 99.9% SLA with credits for downtime.
We will give reasonable advance notice of planned maintenance via email to workspace admins.
Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Inlocus-drafted tasks are suggestions for your review — we don't warrant they will perfectly capture every action item, and you remain responsible for what you approve and sync to Asana.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Inlocus's total liability under these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US$100.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages, lost profits, or lost data, even if we knew the damages were possible.
Termination
You can close your account at any time from your settings. We can suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these Terms, with notice where reasonable. On termination, the licenses you grant us end and we delete your content per the retention schedule.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in San Francisco, California, under the rules of JAMS — except that either party may bring a claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court for IP misuse.
You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing contact@inlocus.co with the subject "Arbitration opt-out."
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we'll notify workspace admins by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
